Artist statement
Cork, Ireland
Tara Ní Mhurchú works in textile and soft sculpture from a studio in Cork. Dyed wool, linen offcuts, and domestic pattern become bodies that sag, lean, and take up the corner of a room.
The work is concerned with care, weight, and the materials that usually stay behind furniture. Large pieces are made for exhibition; smaller textile works leave the studio more readily.
