Artist statement
Dublin, Ireland
Samuel Okonkwo draws at architectural scale — charcoal, tape, and wall. Based in Dublin after an MFA at NCAD, he is concerned with housing, waiting rooms, and the line as a way of holding a city still.
Large wall drawings are temporary. Smaller works on paper leave the studio as editions or unique sheets, often after a site-specific installation comes down.
